Project East Africa Summit returns in March

Project East Africa will be organised from 20-21 March 2019 in Kampala, Uganda, highlighting large-scale power and utility projects across East Africa

Dr Sun Xiansheng, secretary general at International Energy Forum joins the Ugandan Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda in Kampala for this forum.

Dr Ruhakana Rugunda will be welcoming all national utility companies, power regulators, developers, finance providers, DFI’s, multi-laterals, private and public equity funds, EPC’s, major construction companies, lawyers and consultants to the event to debate and discuss on the following topics:

· Current and upcoming Government development plans

· Key finance and investment opportunities

· Core value and analysis of ‘bankable opportunities’

· Debate and interaction with utility and regulatory bodies

· Generation opportunities and challenges, national and local

· Opportunities in cross border power-sharing agreements

· Transmission and distribution projects

· Off-grid rural electrification initiatives

· Local content requirements and support initiatives

With investment interest at an all-time high in East Africa, Project East Africa works directly with the finance, infrastructure and energy ministries of Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Kenya, to unite the utility and regulatory bodies, finance groups and project delivery specialists in furthering understanding and viable investment opportunities throughout the region.
