25th Mining Indaba kicks off today

The 25th edition of Mining Indaba is being held from 4-7 February 2019 in Cape Town, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in Africa’s mining sector development

The highly anticipated event is set to see the largest amount of investors, mining executives and junior miners from across the globe come together for this leading deal-making forum.

Organised by ITE Group, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will be the keynote speaker during the conference. President Ramaphosa will be joined by the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo and is set to bring his investment and reform agenda to the largest mining investment gathering occurring next week.

In addition, more than 750 investors and dealmakers are expected to attend the event.

Featuring the sustainable development day, the event will also discuss the role of diversity, inclusion and local communities in the mining sector and discover the newest sustainability-driven innovations.

The enhanced business matchmaking portal with easy filtering and search functions will provide with targeted matches so the visitors can spend more time having focused conversations.

There will be an increased focus on resource nationalism during the conference. The discussion will focus on developing strategies and how to restore stability and protect the investment when there’s political and economic upheaval.
