Ethiopian Airlines has announced it will add an eighth Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its rapidly growing fleet

The newest aircraft will support the increased number of flights between London Heathrow and Addis Ababa as the airline implements a new schedule from London Heathrow on 8th July.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aims to provide customers with improved on-board comfort with greatly reduced noise, higher ceilings, the largest windows in the sky, Ethiopian Airlines said.

“The 787 is truly without peers in its category both in terms of passenger comfort and operational excellence, group chief executive officer of Ethiopian Airlines,” stated group chief executive officer of Ethiopian Airlines Tewolde Gebremariam.

“As technology leaders on the continent of Africa we will continue to introduce the latest technologically advanced aircraft with the aim of meeting the high expectations of our valued customers,” Gebremariam added.

Ethiopian Airlines has more than 200 daily departures and is operating 67 modern aircraft including the Boeing 777s and Boeing 787s.

The aircraft also enables the airline to meet its green corporate social responsibility, with greatly reduced carbon footprint, Ethiopian Airlines said.
