Procter and Gamble Nigeria (P&G) has completed the construction of a manufacturing plant worth US$300mn in Agbara industrial estate, Ogun State in western Nigeria

According to P&G, the plant has been built to strengthen its consumer goods stronghold and is reportedly the single largest investment by a US-based company in Nigeria.

Temitope Iluyemi, sub-Sahara government relations associate director of P&G, said the plant would contribute to the growth of Nigeria's GDP.

Bimbo Ashiru, commissioner for commerce and industry in Ogun State said that the state would continue to keep the business atmosphere friendly.

According to Ashiru, such developments would encourage the government to do more in providing necessary infrastructure to attract new investments and make existing ones thrive.
